A REGISTRATION POLICY FOR TURKISH VAN CATS - 13d - effective 22 June 2005
FULL REGISTER
Turkish Van cats, with Championship or Provisional status, which have
only Turkish Vans on the Full or Supplementary Register in their pedigrees
within the previous three generations, shall be placed on the Full Register,
with the exception of those cats whose pedigrees include, within three
generations, a Turkish Van with Preliminary status or as yet unrecognised
colour.
SUPPLEMENTARY REGISTER
Turkish Van cats, with Championship or Provisional status, which have
only Turkish Vans or Turkish Vankedisi in their pedigrees within three generations, shall be
placed on the Supplementary Register.
EXPERIMENTAL REGISTER
Turkish Van cats with Preliminary status, which have only Turkish Vans or Turkish Vankedisi
in their pedigrees within three generations, shall be placed on the Experimental
Register.
REFERENCE REGISTER
a) Turkish Van cats of unrecognised
colours, which have only Turkish Vans or Turkish Vankedisi in their pedigrees within three
generations, shall be placed on the Reference Register as Turkish Vans,
and shall be eligible to be registered on the Experimental Register in
the event of the preliminary recognition of their colour.
b) Van-patterned cats imported from
the area of origin which are of unknown background shall be placed on
the Reference Register as Turkish Vans, and shall be eligible to move
to the Supplementary or Experimental Registers after three generations.
c) All cats of Turkish Van appearance
which have in their pedigrees within three generations, any breed other
than Turkish Van or Turkish Vankedisi, shall be placed on the Reference Register as ‘of Turkish
type’.
NOTES:
1) Any white offspring resulting from the mating of two Turkish Van cats or from the mating of a Turkish Van cat and a Turkish Vankedisi should be registered as a Turkish Vankedisi
2) The van-patterned offspring of van-patterned cats presently registered as 'of Turkish type' should be registered as Turkish Van provided that the 'white of Turkish type' ancestor is not within 3 generations.
