THE TURKISH VAN CAT CLUB AGM NEWS 2010 The Annual General Meeting was held at Chieveley Village Hall on 28th March and I would like to thank the members who attended. It was a very friendly and enjoyable day. This year there were a few members present and the Committee is extremely grateful they supported us. Elections were held, you will see on the website who this year’s Committee members are, also our Delegate and Reserve to Council and our Breed Advisory Committee Delegates. I would like to mention there are 3 vacancies on the Committee so if there are any paid up members who would like to volunteer to join us please let me know. Most of our meetings are held by Teleconference, this means you do not need to travel to all the meetings as you phone in from home and participate in the meetings, which usually last about 1 hour. One face-to face meeting takes place each year (pre AGM), which does involve travel but at least this is only once a year. The main points to mention are: The BAC had requested the TVCC place a proposal to members at AGM to make a change to the Standard of points, which will only affect Show Cats. This proposal was approved and will be forwarded to the GCCF by the BAC Secretary. The GCCF has requested all Breed Clubs provide them with a Breed Policy by the end of April 2011. This is to encourage good Breeding Practice’s, ensure genetic faults are identified & inbreeding levels are within an acceptable level to breed cats with vigour & health, whilst promoting and setting type. Thanks to Jane Tackley and the Turkish BAC a draft Policy has already been written and forwarded to the Genetic’s Committee for their examination. I would like to thank all members for supporting the club your support of the club over the years is much appreciated. Annual subscription’s were due in January, membership/ renewal forms can be downloaded from the Membership Page of this website. There was a photo competition on the day and judged by club member and Probationer Judge Carolyn Davies. There were many beautiful cats for her to choose from, I did not envy her task. Please click here to view the list of Annual Trophy Winners .
The overall winner of the photo competition There was a raffle drawn on the day with nearly everyone trying to win the digital camera donated by Kathy McLeod & Sam Sale. A total of £57.00 was made on the raffle and Karen Guidera went home very happy with her new digital camera !! The TVCC is now gearing up for our Annual Show Championship Show and would like to remind owners of Turk’s as well as the Pedigree Turkish Section, there is a Household Pet and Pedigree Pet Section, and these exhibits can now win certificates and titles! Once again this year we are sharing the venue with the LH & SLH Cat Club, so you are able to enter your cats in both shows, with the possibility of gaining two certificates! We would love see lots of cats entered so please, if you want to participate most of the Committee show cats and are available if you want to seek advice. Check out the information on our Show Page for more detailed information.
